In
October 2004 Mario accompanied the TV star Dermot O’Leary and his
father Sean on a trip to Sierra Leone. Dermot (BBC2 ‘SAS - Are You
Tough Enough’; C4 ‘Big Brother's Little Brother’) is a supporter of
Cafod (one of the biggest UK charities). His packed schedule included
visiting some of the CAFOD funded schemes designed to support children
and teenagers who suffered terribly during the war. The emphasis was on
meeting ordinary young people at the grassroots level.
Mario covered
the trip both with video footage and stills. Video images were used for
BBC1 Breakfast and to produce a CD-Rom for teenagers, "Make Poverty
History". Stills were used on Cafod publicity and website. |
